❓ How do I start a game?
SharePlay Mode (Multiplayer):
- Start a FaceTime call with 1-7 friends
- Open Grab Red Envelope
- Tap "Start SharePlay Game"
- Tap "Share" in the SharePlay popup
- Wait for friends to join (you'll see their names appear)
- Tap "START GAME" when everyone is ready
- Grab red envelopes quickly!
Solo Mode (Practice):
- Open Grab Red Envelope (no FaceTime needed)
- Tap "Play Solo"
- Tap "START GAME" to play with 5 AI players
❓ Can I play without FaceTime?
Yes! Tap "Play Solo" to practice with 5 AI players. This mode doesn't require FaceTime and is great for learning the game.
❓ My friends can't join the SharePlay session
Make sure:
- Everyone is on iOS 16.0 or later
- Everyone has Grab Red Envelope installed
- You tapped "Share" in the SharePlay popup
- Your friends tapped "Open" or "Join" when they see the SharePlay notification
- Everyone is on the same FaceTime call (not individual calls)
❓ The app shows "SharePlay not available"
This means FaceTime isn't currently active. You can:
- Start a FaceTime call first, then open the app
- Play Solo mode without FaceTime
Note: SharePlay requires an active FaceTime call. The app will automatically detect when FaceTime becomes available.
❓ How many players can join?
2-8 players total can play together via SharePlay. In Solo mode, you play with 5 AI players (6 total including you).
❓ What happens to my game if I leave FaceTime?
The SharePlay session will end, and the game will stop. All players will return to the lobby. Don't worry - we don't save any game data, so there's no penalty!
❓ Is my game data stored or tracked?
No! We don't collect, store, or track any data. All game state exists only in device memory during gameplay and is deleted when you close the app. See our Privacy Policy for details.
❓ Can I play with Android users?
Unfortunately no. Grab Red Envelope uses Apple's SharePlay framework, which is only available on iOS/iPadOS devices. All players must have iOS 16.0 or later.
❓ The game feels laggy or slow
SharePlay performance depends on your internet connection during FaceTime calls. Try:
- Using Wi-Fi instead of cellular data
- Moving closer to your Wi-Fi router
- Closing other apps that might be using bandwidth
- Playing Solo mode (no internet required) to check if it's a connection issue
❓ What are the system requirements?
- iOS Version: 16.0 or later
- Devices: iPhone, iPad
- Internet: Required only for SharePlay mode (FaceTime)
- Storage: Minimal (app is lightweight)
Troubleshooting
🔧 SharePlay popup keeps appearing
This was a known issue that has been fixed in the latest version. Please update to the newest version from the App Store.
🔧 Game crashes or freezes
- Force quit the app and restart it
- Make sure you're on the latest iOS version
- Try Solo mode first to isolate the issue
- Report the issue to us (see Contact section below)
🔧 Can't tap red envelopes
- Make sure the game has actually started (you should see "Envelopes Grabbed" counter)
- Try tapping different areas of the screen
- If in SharePlay mode, check your FaceTime connection
